The video Environments reflects urban conditions in terms of the extension of physical spaces through communication spaces in electronic data networks such as the internet.
City can no longer be defined in local terms. It is rather a structure of interweavings of different substances of place and space: Physical, electronic and mental spaces create dynamic conglomerates, which in turn generate new modes of language, behavior and living resulting in a new conception of the urban.
In the video clippings of interviews with net participants from such as Bangalore, Berlin, New York, Bombay, Delhi, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Vienna are juxtaposed with filmic sequences of their respective environment. The reports on experience made, statements, and episodes pertaining to everyday life in the net describe new, but meanwhile familiar vital spaces.
